Muuuuah!
You may now uncrossed and unplait everything. Sorry for the inconvenience...I know it can't have been easy to do whatever you did this weekend with all your digits entangled.
The Child was accepted to Second Choice High and is on the wait list for First Choice.
This is not a tragedy by any means. She will be just fine with attending Second Choice. And, of course, there is a perfectly fine chance that she'll get off the list and into the halls of First Choice. (Because, after all, these fine children all apply to more than one school. They all have first, second and third choices. For some, First Choice is their fall back. So you see, once FCH holds their first registration they will be more clear about how many spaces are left to fill).
Point is, that load has been lifted and even though there is some waiting now with First Choice, The Child knows for a fact that she is going to high school. She also knows that if she goes to Second Choice, she's going to take one year of Intro. to Drama as one of her electives.
Excuse me, please, while the reality of all this sinks in.

Congrats. I never had a choice of high schools, but went to my second choice college, and after having such a wonderful time, wouldn't have traded any of it for my time at the first choice anyway. So there.
Congrats, Congrats.
Now, we just need to get those missing assignments found.
Sounds like "second choice" is a fine choice indeed. Drama should be loads of fun for her. I'm glad the pressure is off, school can be hard enough. Congrats.
Holy carp, I can't believe it. Our Girl is going to HIGH SCHOOL...?!?
Just tried to ring you, no answer, will try again later.
Bisous. This is exciting.
Excellent! Sp please that got sorted out! I know you're all terribly relieved that nail biting bit is over. I can only partially sympathize as we're just dealing with a summer program application- but it can get you overly obsessed I know!
Big hugs to you, the Child and the Spouse Cuz!
Whew. Sometimes second choice is a blessing in disguise. Does FC offer drama? She has her parents talent and beauty....a message there I am sure.
I got to go to my first choice HS (Franklin Quakers #1!) - for less than a year. Then we up and moved to the suburbs (or whatever White Center is in reality) and had to go to a different school.
My point? Do I have one? Oh, yeah - she's going to do great no matter what.
Could you hear the sigh of relief from here all the way over there? That is such great news. Second choice sounds like it may work out better than First Choice. Give the Child the biggest hug imaginable from us here in Rome.
Whew! Congrats to the Child! I think the relief of having it done and settled with no more middle of the night worrying is the best part of all. The waiting is like limbo land ... you can't really make plans either way. So enough of that -- on to high school, whoo-hoo!
Good job, Child!
That is so cool. I bet you are relieved. I had the choice of going to one High School, Centralia High! Oh the memories... Actually I didn't even have a choice....get your butt to school was more like it. But little centralia has nothing to offer like the great emerald city does.
Congratulations and good luck.
Yep.
That about covers it.
Very cool! Any yes.. now reality.. she is going to High School. But look at the bright side, you dont have to home school her!
Please tell the child that beth says "hi"
hoooray! I am sure that is a weight off your minds! Any school would be lucky to have her! xo
I don't know from choices of High School, but I do know this!
The Lord puts us where He wants us,and only good can come of it.
PLUS!.Drama!!...How cool is that!
Well done, child.
Hi Lorraine. Pretty soon (TEN DAYS), you will have regular comments from me all ovah this blog o' yours. Soon I shall be free. Soon.
BUT...
Just because I can't comment much, doesn't mean I'm not thinking about the Child and the Drama and completely empathetic to all of it. I continue to wish the bestest things for your Family. And utter prayers when you knowingly blog out requests for them. Have a happy week over yonder!
ps: Did I ever tell you that I LOVE what the Child's name is? It is a perfect match for her. Tell her HI and give a quick hug from me for courage. High School is not quite like the musical...
Congrats to the Child! Not a bad place to be, indeed.
Thanks to all of you for the love and support. Consider The Child well congratulated and hugged. She was very touched by all your comments. And you're right...she's going to end up where she needs to be. We don't have a problem with changing the name of Second Choice to First Choice if that's how it plays out. Plus, Second Choice has red sweatshirts. I look awesome in red.
That is such a relief and I'm so happy for you guys that the waiting is over. For now.
Drama? The Child?
Who would have thought?
