Didja Notice?
I heard something on NPR the other day about the extra money we should be seeing in our paychecks owing to some tax break that we'd been promised. "Hm," thought I. "Extra money?" Today was payday so what better time to check out such a thing. And lo and behold, sho' nuff, not only was there extra money in both paychecks, but this had been going on for 3 pay periods. Now, it's not a ton of money...amounts to about $30/paycheck but in a time like the current time, it was an increase in the proper direction. Factor in that nearly everything is, it seems, on sale these days and it amounts to even more buying power.
Provided one has a paycheck to begin with, of course.

(An aside: I think Mrs. Sarkosy is very pretty and fairly talented but I still think Michelle could take her).

thanks for the heads-up, i'll check my checking account deposits.
Be advised all they are doing is taking out less for taxes. come next april you will get a nasty supprise when you owe those taxes. so do the right thing and contact you rHR dept and have then take out over and above the amount you are getting extra.
Steve saw a very small increase...about 22 bucks. I thought I was supposed to get a SS bonus of 250....haven't seen it yet...but I spent it. Good advice from Eric. Steve hates to use the Gubment as a savings account without interest so we will have to look at our exemption status....we are usually close to perfect without owing but getting a tiny amount back.
Here is an article from the Consumerist that supports my point.
consumeristBush senior did this back in the day and I got bit by it then so no more fool me twice
It is nice to see the extra $. It is hard to know the best thing to do, but spending it sounds so much more fun than being responsible.
Two things;..
a) Michelle could absolutely whup, but the two of them together are really something!..Wait..That came out wrong.?
No..it didn't.
And,quite naturally,
2) Thanks for the heads up Eric!
