Introducing The (New) Cat

I took about a dozen shots of her face...she would NOT hold still. That's why this one is blurry.

But isn't she a pretty thing?

And this is a more comprehensive shot. She very much enjoys watching "Hannah Montana" with her Girl.

Rosie said it best in her comment ...a house really isn't a home without a kitty (if you're into felines). We needed some time after Phoebe's passing but it feels really, really right to have a kitty again.

Anonyba, yes, we were very pleased with that fact as well. The Child noted that she has won a pet, purchased a pet, gotten a pet for free from the Market and now rescued a pet.

Her name is Kiera. Now, technically, it's "Kira", but I figured if we weren't going to be able to name her (since we'd discussed 'Minerva McGonigall' for the next cat) at least I could give it an English spelling.

Thank god you got that cat after I visted otherwise you might have woken up to us locked in a death struggle. Cats are evil, pure evil.

Cliffie, Duh.

Allyn: Oh, not this one. She's a sweetie. I swear she wouldn't have sucked out your breath as you slept.

Pretty sure of it, anyway.

Naming cats after annoying, spindly actresses is not a practice of which I approve, but seeing as Ms Knightley recently delivered a more-than-decent turn in The Duchess, I am willing to cast aside my objections in this case.

At least she's not called Lindsay.

Aww. WTG for rescuing her-She looks like a cuddly & non-evil one.
I'm *thinking* of getting one for my 5 yr old, once they invent the kind that empty thier own litterbox.

Syd and Mon, indeed.

DA, technically she wasn't named for Miss Knightly...that was her name previously and we kept it, as that is the politic thing to do when rescuing an animal. But since she can't spell I figured she'd never know about the extra "e", which I feel lends her name (which would not have been my first choice) a bit of cache.

And I want to see "The Duchess". Although I'm not a fan of the particular Fiennes brother in question.

Anne, yes, he is.

Leah, I hear that. Fortunately, The Child has stepped up in that department. ('K, she's done it once, but still).

I'm so glad you got a kitty again! (I love cats)Hopefully, I'll meet her someday.

I'd get one just so I could name it Puss-Puss. Or "Ouiser" after one of the characters on Steel Magnolias.

Sage, I don't know about "trouble"...although she certainly is possessed of a decidedly independent mind.

Twisi, she really is. And exceedingly friendly to humans, which is not something I could say about the dear departed Phoebe.

Lost, ever so cute cute cute.

Buck, whatcha mean "hope"...'course you'll meet her. You're coming back for next year's Autumnal Feast, remember? Silly boy.
