Ed Sullivan!
You know that song from "Bye Bye Birdie"? Well you should.
Ed Sullivan is so venerable he should be a koihead. But I must beg to differ with him. Much as I love them, calling these guys a "rock group" is quite a stretch.
Anyhoodles, this is for The Hat. And it's awesome.
And I'm still crushing on the bass player.
And that is all the time I'm going to spend on YouTube today because I have to start prepping for the Autumnal Feast tomorrow night which is, as you know, no small undertaking.

"Ed Sullivan, Ed Sullivan, WE'RE gonna be on Ed Sullivan...." Ah yes, memories of high school theatre coming roaring back. Remember Kim in Bye Bye Birdie? No, I didn't play her, but remember her annoying friend? No, I didn't play her either. I played annoying friend's mom. That's what happens to good singers with wide hips in high school - they play moms.
Brava, brava! I'll bet you were great, KA.
dut dut duh daaaa daaa daaa daaa daaa...sigh.
Happy.
Also, it should be noted that I just ADORE the swishy kick that the tamberine man does. tee

..and aren't you forgetting "Along comes Mary",and "Windy"?..Total rock group type music stuff!..I rest my case.
Hello? You need to keep reading, my friend. And the only reason I didn't play "Along Comes Mary" is that I had to stop playing videos and get somethin' done!
Oh, and Hat, I was totally harmonizing with your comment...

OK......The association......I wonder what they all look like now.
What a lovely set of tunes. Brings me back to my pre Zepplin days. Though I did dig the trogs.

You know how I always go off half-cocked,jumping in with an unsolicited rant about god knows what and,..hey,..where's my beer?
Who doesn't love The Trogs, honey?
And here's your beer, Sling. Sheesh.
Rosie, I was totally wondering the same thing. Maybe I can dig up some photos...
My son was in bye bye birdie, he was the little brother, he sang that song -- even a little solo!
The Old Fart registers in late with another fav from this era:
