Achoo!
I slept in this morning. Until 8:15. It was sweet.
Today will be spent taking care of householdish things which have gone begging since I reentered the work force. (We're going to have a family meeting about this, Mumsie having realized that the hold SAHM-I'll-do-it-all-because-I'm-here-to-do-it formula is no longer practical nor equitable).
I will also, hopefully, be working on the content for the website that needs to be built for the new business, as my goal is to launch after Labor Day. It's all terribly exciting.
And then, of course, there is much to be done for what will be, as Uncle JP put it, a national holiday in our home tomorrow. Banners are being prepared, the menu is planned. I'm charged with scaring up some appropriate party favors. Nieces must be gathered. A certain 13 year old someone has been waiting forever for this moment to arrive: the premiere of High School Musical II. * I wonder if she'll even be able to sleep tonight.
Enough. I have many precious hours ahead and must make the most of them. It's a manageable list but I need to get going. Also, I am currently contemplating the supreme irony of starting an organizing business when my own desk looks like this:
I should do something about that, don'tcha think?
* I'm excited, too. Shut up.

When I saw the advert for HSM II, I immediately thought of a certain someone. Oh! To be thirteen again!
Oh, and Hanna Montana was shooting a video in the plaza of Marina Towers yesterday. She says 'hi'.
Are you kidding me!?! Did you get her autograph? Oh man, The Child is gonna plotz when I tell her.
Oh, not the Family Meeting to make the distribution of labor more equitable! That's so sweet. If you get that work --- longterm --- (yeah, there's the rub), I will take out a loan and hire you to organize the Offspring. AND build you a pedestal.
(rather, "if you get that TO work..."
Cowbell, LOL. I'm atually quite hopeful. When The Spouse and I were first married we had a total 50/50 thing going on that worked super well. And he wasn't even sarcastic or punny or anything when I told him we needed to rethink how this stuff gets done. But yeah, I'll take the bet. Now, do I want Italian marble for my pedestal? Hmmm....
lol, remember how adorable it was when The Child asked if I'd 'finished' the Harry Potter book yet - assuming I'd already read them all? And then the look the total horror when she found out that I had never even HEARD of High School Musical? yeah...that was pretty funny. Yeah...
The Ex and I had that 50/50 thing going on too when we both worked. Worked like a charm. Of course, we adjusted things once I shed my combat boots and later started popping out the offspring. I was home, so that was fine. It's more the offspring that fizzle a couple of weeks after I either 1)blow up, 2)call a meeting, or 3)play the martyr. (Depends on the mood) Well, my best to you, seriously -- I'll check back in 6 months. I'll start saving for the pedestal.
If I posted a picture of MY desk, you'd start salivating at the prospect of organizing it, and the huge fee you'd have to charge to justify the time you'd spend doing so. Yeah. It's THAT bad.
They've been touting HSM II in HD on DirecTV for weeks. I couldn't help but think about you and The Child.
Just to clarify, I meant that I assumed HSMII would be a national holiday in YOUR house, not in general, and certainly not in mine.
Hat, I DO remember that. Fortunately for you your Favored Auntie Status was not tarnished by those revelations. But you should probably learn the words to a Hannah Montana song before the next visit. Just in case.
Thanks for your good wishes, CB. Now that marble is involved I'm motivated.
It would appera, Gina, that the only place in America that hasn't heard about HSMII is the party supply store I just returned from. Thank heaven I knew the East High Wildcats school colors are red and gold...
JP: You so love HSM I AND II and you know it. You just wish you could be here to make your own pizza and sing and dance along. I know you.
I have seen Gina's desk and yours looks really neat....amybe a fabric lined basket? Pencil Holder? Drop cloth?
High School Musical 2 ... I wonder if Tom & Lorenzo will post a review ...
Rosie, neat is so relative, ain't it?
Red, dude, they'd better be kind.
i've never seen HSM. I'm just now phasing DeGrassi the Next Generation out of my TV watching. My sister (essentially my age) keeps trying to phase this sort of thing back IN. What am I to do?
Sometimes, Monica, you just have to go with the pop flow.
