Skol's out! Almost.
From 8-10 I'll be with the other Board members setting up for the end-o-the-year picnic. We party from 10 to 1. After clean up I'm taking my carpool for ice cream and then it's no more pencils, no more books for 2.5 months. (Except for the math tutoring and the 3 book reports
that'll be due September 4).
The Child has been singing this for 5 days:

I'm not sure why, but for some reason the word "crockery" was very entertaining to me today. Thank you.
Schools OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohoo!!! you guys get out late, they have been out here since just after Memorial Day.... of course they go back in mid-Aug.
K
Kiss, kiss and a prayer to Bugsy. Civility is under-rated you are right. We don't argue...I do. Steve goes about his day while I rant, rave, slam doors and cry. Him, unmp, so what. Summer is here I think...2.5 months to write book reports and love math. Summer is fun. Repeat 2.5 times a day.
You're kidding, right?
We have to keep going until the 20th of July!!! And we start on 3rd September.
Actually, I don't know why I'm acting all surprised. When I went to school, our summer break began around now and we tended not to go back until the 2nd week of September.
Oooooh...Bugsy. I am so sad. Please give the Neighb and her family my condolences. I almost feel guilty enjoying Riley so much with Bugsy on his way to Heaven. Bichons do have a way of stealing your heart.
As for the marriage-altering stuff, I was never worried, not one bit. Every now and again The Spouse and I have those same sorts of light bulb moments in our marriage, which I suppose is expected since we've made it 26 years, but they sure could be more frequent, that's for sure. We do a lot more "crockery heaving" than conversing civilly at times. :(
Wow, the word verification is jurupput. I feel like Gulliver in Lilliput.
I'm sad when any dog dies, it doesn't even need to be related to me. There's something about a good dog that we humans could do well to model ourselves after and usually don't, sad to say. Hugs to Bugsy.
Big hugs to the Nayb. She's a dear, and so is Bugsy. My heart hurts reading this news.
Gracious, my little elves have been out since May 20, but they start up again in August. It's so we can have the hot-as-hell part of the year all to ourselves.
Speaking of marriages, I think I overhear my husband evangelizing my gay Buddhist friend via the telephone. It's so not fair.
"The wonderful thing about a dog,is that you can make a fool of yourself in front of him,and not only will he not scold you,he will make a fool of himself too"..Good night Bugsy,..sleep tight...
I was hoping for the Sony HD,but if your marriage is altered for the better,I'm all for it! :)
Yea! School is out...I'm sure the Child is ready for her summer fun.
So sad about the doggie..they become members of the family and it's so sad to see them go.
I hate to hear about dogs getting old and at the end of the line. I love my (old) dog and dread that inevitable day....
nice blog btw
You're welcome, JP.
We started late this year, Kendall. Some schools are still making up for our snow days but our wiley Principal already had that built into our schedule. Bwahahaha!
Summer and civility are both very good things, Rosie. My instincts run to door slamming and ranting as well so I'm always very proud of myself when I don't.
D: When I was a kid we got out after Memorial Day, in May, and didn't go back until Labor Day, the first weekend of Sept. Now that was a proper summer holiday.
G: The Neighb appreciates your kind words. And don't feel guilty about Reily. He needs love, too.
And yeah, it's pretty great when you have some sort of marital breakthrough after you've been at the whole thing for a while...makes you realize that you are moving forward rather than just stagnating into boring old whatever.
Red & SCG: Your kind thoughts have been passed along.
BA: LOL at your husband.
Two months of hot, sticky children...lovely.
Sling, thanks. And between you and me, I think you put an idea into The Spouse's head with all that high-def talk.
Suz, sometimes I don't know who is happier about the end of the school year...her or me!
PSS: Yes, the dog thing is very sad. People w/o pets don't understand how much a part of the family they become.
And thanks for stopping by!
