Geez! The Dog Just Growled and It Made Me Jump.

So now that we've confirmed that the adrenal gland is working:

The Child gave her performance the other day and was a raving success. I don't just know this because she felt super good about it.

I've heard classmates rave to her, her teacher told me yesterday how great she'd done, "expressive, responsive and just a hoot" and other teachers were stopping me to say they'd heard about her superfantastic (my word) performance. I wish someone would develop a curriculum for math and science that was theater based. The kid would be a straight A student.

Oh, I know. Grades don't matter. I would just be nice to see her put the same level of effort into those subjects as she did in this, if only for the sake of developing her discipline and well, you know, learning stuff. But then again, seeing her find her's very exciting.

No school today. The Child and I are headed out to help set up for the school auction, which is tomorrow night. We aren't going, though. There is a premiere for the film The Spouse worked on this summer and we're going to that instead. But I promised long ago that I'd help "fluff and buff" the silent auction items, so I'm gonna. And then we are going to go grocery shopping and while we are out, try to find a birthday present for The Boy. Tee.

Yeah, Sling. You should have heard the conversation we had last night about why she didn't think getting married at 13 was such a good idea.

Jlow, hope y'all raise a mess o' money!

That would've been really super cool if the teacher had actually used the word "superfantastic."

I know! But everytime, after someone complimented her I said, "Yes, she's superfantastic"....they'll pick it up eventually.

Thank you for visiting...did you read the swallow story on the 19th...for some reason I thought you might like that one. I want to ask a favor...I am looking for a signature word....kind of like your Pft...and I wanted to know if I could use twaddle...did I spell that right? I know it is your word but it has a nice ring to it, is borderline vulgar like me and it is very much an under used word. So would that be OK??

Strictly speaking, Rosemary, "twaddle" belongs to my biggest fan, Jay. But I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you used it. I agree, it's a fine word.

If it wasn't for drama in high school, I don't know what I would have done.

I still remember playing Felix Unger in The Odd Couple and getting the reaction that The Child is getting for days afterward. What a wonderful feeling.

Its no wonder she's a creative sort. I mean, just look at her mom. :)

I just saw my godson (now a freshman in high school -- eek!) perform in his school's production of Anything Goes and it looks as though he too has found his passion.

Actors are wonderful people, by the way. As long as you don't have to eat with them.
