More Good News
The Child learned yesterday that she's getting honors-worthy grades in math and science as well! Her homework scores in math are 100%, 91% for science. If she keeps that up and does well on tests she's golden.
Some months ago The Spouse put out an open call for a script for a movie short, just so he can fool around with making a movie. He likes doing that sort of thing. Iwanski rose toe the bait with a good basic script. The two of them have been honing and polishing and tonight we're having our first read through. Yeah, neopotism. The Child and I are starring, with The Neighbor cast as "the best friend". It will be a stretch for her, but she's game.
We're also having Renee's Thai steak salad for dinner tonight. Yum.
And that's all. I have much to take care of today, given my obsession yesterday with the bank account.

Today you sneezed.
Yeah, and the comments are rolling in.
Well, I have an idea for a script....in short..this little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home...kind of a Desperate Housepigs spin...it could work you know. I played the mirror in 5th grade in the massive production of Sleeping Beauty...I could really make a camera sizzle....so can I interview?
Wow, Rosemary, you have some serious acting cred...we need a few gypsies...open call is tomorrow at noon.
How fun -- will the movie be loaded onto YouTube for the viewing pleasure of all of your blogfriends???
Oh, and seriously -- congrats to The Child. That's terrific.
Now really, did you ever doubt her? After all, she does have your genes! I can't wait for the short! That is going to be SO fun!
So glad your banking worked out. Now you will die to know... I pretty much never balance my checking account. I write almost NO checks and have most everything deducted via online banking. It makes my life easier, and my credit score much higher. I check it constantly (my account) to make sure there are no mistakes. But I never balance. I used to be a maniac balancer. No more.
I hope the reading goes well. Even though I'm not there, please know that I am nervous.
Also, good news. Eric convinced me to take out the nude scene. I felt it was tasteful, but I guess it'll be okay without it.
Of course, now we'll never get on IFC.
Iwanski, we were thinking of calling you and putting you on speaker. Maybe next time. And I suspect deleting the nude scene was a lot easier once you realized that I'd been cast as the mom.
Hope it was tasty.
It's William's favorite.
The Child Rocks!..and so do independent movies.
I'll be watching with popcorn and junior mints at the ready. :)
It was very tasty, Renee. It's one of my favorites, too! So much flavor for so little effort...my kind of weeknight meal!
I think it's going to be good, Sling. It's going to be fun, that's for sure. Our pledge to you, we will endeavor to make it Junior Mint worthy.
Make sure to let us know when we need to get our Oscars ensembles together.
BTW....good for the Child...she ROCKS!
We'll probably start slow, Kendall, you know, enter it in a bunch of indie festivals...let the buzz generate for a bit...best to start looking into what's de rigeur at Sundance and SIFF before rolling out the Armani.
And you have no idea how big a grin she gets on her face every time I tell her another blog buddy is proud of her. Thanks.
And the recipe will be posted when?
Come cook me food, please.
As soon as I have permission from Renee, SCG.
'K, Bad Alice. How many courses?
