Dare to Dream

It is late June. Last night the Mariners beat Arizona 11-7 and in so doing evened up their record. They are now .500 on the season.

It was a dreadful start and I have no illusion that the latest bout of winning will amount to anything come the postseason but you have no idea how long I've been waiting to write that number. I'll write it again - .500. Sigh. Thanks for indulging me. Go back to work.

Yes, Charlie. It's the World Cup. Of course it is. And the Americans are still losing.

MBFIS, During the 2001 season we were surprised when the Ms lost. But that was a golden time, a perfect time. The good news is, Steinbrenner isn't our owner.

I feel my Mariner optimism coming on strong. Only 4 games out. We could do it.

I've done this to myself every year since 1977. Only then, I only did it in April. Now at least I make it to July.

Good times.
