Scenes from Easter Break: Coffee

Only problem with sleeping in is that The Spouse is making a fresh pot at 6 a.m. and even though we have a thermal pot it just isn't as fresh and delicious at 8 as it was when first brewed. Which is why I'm probably going to stop sleeping in the rest of the week and just indulge in afternoon naps if I need to. Because I just love a fresh cup of coffee, more even than sleeping in.

Do you have a French press, or are you needing one? Can't recall. Maybe you should get yourself one of those, along with a French press cozy.

But really, it is stinky when you arrive to a thermal carafe of coffee that's been brewed several hours ago and it's lukewarm and losing its luster. Makes me sad to think about it. You have my deepest sympathies.

I knew you'd understand. And yes, I do have a French press and forgot all about that as an option. Sheesh. Must really be on vacation, what with the absence of brain power.

Blasphemy.

I drink instant...my taste buds are ghetto I guess. The child will reflect the parent most times...so you are fine for the teen years. Now the dog issue....just visiting? Dead Kibble? The dog is leaving soon? Forget it is the correct route. If I nap in the afternoon I feel like I have saran wrap on my face for the rest of the day. But I am at my best when I am tired, cranky and bitchy from lack of sleep.

Well, what I really love is sleeping in AND fresh coffee. Which is why the press pot is definately an option starting tomorrow. Blaspheming over with.

I love afternoon naps, Kendall. But not more than coffee.

Ghetto tastebuds and Saran wrap faces...you sure do have a way with words and images, Rosie.

All week long,my morning coffee is whatever is left over from the day before, having been nuked for exactly seventy seconds.Seriously,it's a leftover habit from harder times.
On the weekends,I sleep late, and then reward my frugality with a decadent pot made from freshly ground beans.I know it seems like a bizarre weekly ritual, but it helps me appreciate the little things.

French press pots...those little glass carafes with a plunger in the lid...surely you have those in DC, Red.

That is very uplifting, Sling. Nuked coffee makes my throat small, but still, that is very uplifting. And I'll bet that weekend cuppa tastes really, really good.
