And, just for fun, Lorraine, let's review this little nugget from an interview NPR's Robert Siegel had with Karl Rove, about two weeks ago:
* * *
MR. ROVE: Yeah. Look, I'm looking at all these Robert and adding them up. And I add up to a Republican Senate and a Republican House. You may end up with a different math, but you're entitled to your math. I'm entitled to "the" math.
MR. SIEGEL: I don't know if you're entitled to a different math, but you're certainly entitled to --
MR. ROVE: I said you were entitled to yours.
* * *
Seems that Robert Siegel's math just kicked Karl Rove's math's smug little butt.
Grish, a) Come on out of the closet, bro! and 2) um, you should be able to figure that out on your own. You might want to pay attention to when the number changes.
Legal, Funny, I've been quoting that particular wise man a lot in the last 36 hours or so. (Not surprising, I suppose, the classic endure).
And thanks for that little walk down Smuggery Lane. I admit to a smidge of immature, petty gloating when it comes to the smackdown of Rove. Actually heard some pundit last night say something on the lines of: "Everyone says Karl Rove is a genius: the 2 presidential elections were way too close; he promoted a "base-based" strategy that clearly failed; people are tired of being told over and over to be afraid; Karl Rove is no genius".
Kendall, Nancy Pelosi outclasses just about everyone I can think of. She's a dignified, genteel woman with nerves of steel. She's articulate. And she knows exactly what she wants. It's going to be a very interesting lunch. W got mighty fiesty in front of the press yesterday but the fact is, behind closed dooers he is going to have to drop the cowboy act and work with her. If there is gridlock on the Hill it's going to come from the White House, not Pelosi.
I hope he doesn't serve her something sloppy, like pizza or spagetti. That's horrible first-date food.
Some conservative pundits are saying Bush threw the election on purpose because he wanted a Democratic Congress because he's got more in common with moderate Dems than conservative Republicans. I guess I'm hoping the Dems really do want to work to get stuff done, rather than spend the next two years trying to make Republicans look bad by bringing charge after charge against various Republicans. That won't be fun. I'd like to see Congress DO something for their constituents, not spend their time trying to make the other side look bad so they can win in 2008. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of confidence in that happening. No matter who has control, I think that's what the focus for the next two years is going to be. Please let me be wrong.
Gina, That's just crazy talk. Time to find some new pundits. All those conspiracy theories make a person nuts. I know.
I am quite confident that both Pelosi and Bush mean what they say about getting things done. They both have a lot at stake to do so. As does the nation.
And if there are charges brought against anyone it will be because they deserve it, not because of payback. I don't see Pelosi or Reid rushing to judgement on anything right now.
Just hold out hope. And call and email your representatives. Frequently.
Yes, he does. As does The Neighbor. Partly because they are usually with me when I find the number.
BTW, my word verification is "gitnoot". I think this is going to be my new favorite not-word. In fact, let's take it for a spin: "Grish, don't be a gitnoot! You know what that number means". Yep, I like it.

I'm starting to think I'm a closet Democrat, 'cause this is all very exciting...:P
What exactly is the number for over there in the right column anyways? Sorry if I missed it or whatever...
As a wise man once said, "BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!"

It is all just so wonderful, how much would you pay to be in the room with Bush right before Nancy Pelosi walks in the door for lunch?
I would LOVE to hear the conversation that is bouncing around in his brainless head!

It bears repeating: Bwaahahahah.

Grish, Lorraine and I figured a couple weeks ago that you would be the ONLY other person in blogville to know what that number meant.
Wait, I bet Eric probably knows too.
