"The Lower Hudson River from the Erie Pier in Hoboken", wood engraving by John DePol

Mr. DePol was a friend of my New Jersey uncle. Dame Judy had a print of this engraving, which was autographed to her by the artist. A few years ago she gave it to me because she could never find the right spot for it in her home and because she knew how much I loved New York.

Yeah, he did amazing stuff. He died last year. Which I guess makes this engraving even more special...the view is gone and so is the artist who captured it.

Thanks, Iwanski.
