Something I Find Really Amusing

In my job I have occasion to encounter a whole lot of people from a whole lot of walks of life. That in itself is quite something. But you just wouldn't believe how many people, in the course of a conversation, will look at me and say, "Of course, you're too young to know anything about this but...", followed by a reference to, oh, I don't know, life before cell phones or watching Armstrong walk on the moon or whatever.

Given that I am 51 years old today, I find that pretty frakking hysterical.

At this time I would like to thank my parents, Sean Connery and Dame Judi Dench, for their superfantastic genes. (They don't look their age, either).

I would also like to wish a happy birthday today to my darling MN Fan, Jane, and to the always delightful Bruce Springsteen.

Let me pop the cork on this bottle of champagn-ya.

Now I'm going to test the champagn-ya to make sure it's worthy of someone wearing a tiara.

Now I'm going to go to the store and get another bottle of champagn-ya, so that you can have some too.

Okay, I'm back, and-- who put the peanut butter in my chocolate? Actually, those are 2 great tastes that taste great together.

And where are those monkeys going with my 6 pack of champagn-ya? Shouldn't they be in a barrel somewhere? SLING!!

Thank you, Anonyba. In our house, Ed Sullivan was THE Sunday night event.

Willym, love the white peaches! And I'm not at all coy about the age thing. Especially since today someone guessed I was 34.

Don't forget the strawberries, Lost!

Whoo hoo! I've always wanted a barrell of monkeys, Sling. But they seriously need to stay away from the chocolate fondue. They're making me nervous...

Syd, I think we can forgo the candles...I won't be able to blow them all out before the cheesecake starts to melt.

But of course I will, Cuz. Fondue?

I don't particularly ACT my age, either, Mom. May have something to do with it. And this party is shaping up nicely...we have peanut butter, white peaches and plenty of chocolate...if only JP would get here with the back up champagn-ya.

Oh, Rosie. Perfect! Just set all that over there on the designated chocolate table and then come over here and so I can play "Lady of Spain" for you. (Ok, seriously, I haven't figured out "Lady of Spain" yet, but if I can pretend you are all here partyin', I can pretend to have mastered the concertina).

Crap, JP! Damn monkeys. First the fondue and now this...

My pc may say it's the next day, but I'm in Memphis, an hour behind, so it is still the 24th of Septembre and only slightly belated! 33 more minutes of joyful odes!

Dang it! I missed the party!
Husband came home early from fishing trip, sans fish!
Stupid fish, made me miss the
"B-Day Bash" of the decade!
Champagn-ya, chocolate and squishing 10 gallons of monkeys into a 5 gallon barrel! Can there be more fun than that!?!?!
