My Oh My

March is going out like a lion. Actually, right this second, it's pretty nice. Cold, but nice. Not like the sloppy snow-rain and frigid temperatures of the last few days. I think it's because The Neighbor returned from a week long trip to her mom's. (She's a very nice daughter but that sort of behavior really messes with my cocktail hour).

This is what it looked like on Friday.

This is what The Child thought about it:

Life now returns to normal. The Child is back in school, The Neighbor will be home for cocktails this evening and I, well, I am caught up in the magic that only happens once a year, swathed as I am in the sense that anything is possible, anything can happen...all you gotta do is believe. Yep, it's Opening Day.

(Do I like the M's chances this year? Their record was 13-16-3 in spring training, which pretty much means nothing. Who knows? Ask me in July).

Rosemary is going to mock that light dusting of snowfall, just so you know.

that kind of snow in this area would close school for weeks.

Oooh. I started watching that romantic comedy number with Drew Barrymore and someone I don't know - about the Red Sox - last night. I can't stand the Red Sox ever since we had to forfeit a double header because of Disco Demolition. BUT STILL. Opening Day! It's sweetness.

I'll raise Rosemary's mock and put all chips in. It's going to snow here in WI again tonight. I fear I cannot handle this. Please grant me the Child's enthusiasm....
Did you have fun with her on "spring" break?

ps: Go "M"ilwaukee Brewers!!! I'm such a sucker for baseball season.
It's a shame we blowed chunks at the end of last year's season. (what team blows like a 20 game lead!?!?)

If I complain that's it's been a little chillier here than is usual for March in L.A., feel free to clock me one...

I hope it starts acting more like spring soon!

Hhhmmm. Is it time for my 3 step to do list for the environmentaly concerned? Naw lets let the M's hold the day. I'll save it for later, and no you probably havent heard it before and if you have were encouraged to discount it. Inclusion vs exclusion being the 3rd.

GO MSRINERS!!

Peace

Anne, I'm not sure it would even result in a 2 hour delay here! It sure was freakish, though.

Booda, that's the movie that's based on "Fever Pitch" by Nick Hornby, right? Never saw it but I do love me a good baseball movie. Or even a mediocre baseball movie.

Danny, and all the Crackerjack you can eat.

Pft, Sfoof. I don't mock your cheese. Go Brewers. (Why not? It's opening day...plenty of goodwill to go around).

Roger that, Syd. Some actual spring would be nice.

Sage, you should totally come up for a game this season!

Anonyba, does that list of yours have something on it about the impact of garlic fries on the ozone?

I take it quite personally when snow falls at this point in the year, like it's some sort of soft, white, fluffy curse word.

Not too rational, that. But neither is snow after Easter.

Ok, Dana, next time it snows in spring I'm looking up and saying, "Oh, what is this foul-mouthed utterance from the heavens?"

A fist shaken in impotent frustration may accompany these words.

My folks told me about the snow you guys are getting up there in the top left corner. That's odd.

The Nationals had their opening day, too. George W. Bush was asked to throw the first pitch, and when he appeared, everyone booed. I love my town every now and again.

I have a similar picture, only with dog prints marring the wood boards, and dogs instead of kids.

Adorable pic of the Child! the color contrast, the rosy cheeks, the smile ... perfect.

Red, Anne mentioned something about that in her blog...I immediately went to YouTube and found a clip. Price.Less!

Nayb: Yup.

Isn't she just, Cowbell? Of course, 30 seconds ago I was about to throttle her...but so it goes.

Sfoof, you should move next door! Then you'd have two!

My condolences Iwanski. We won 5-2 against the Rangers. Who I hate. Because W used to own them and it was the team A-Rod left us for. I don't hate them as much as the Yankees, but I hate them.

Baseball. Strong emotions.

This weather has me freaked out. Last night, during the hail storm the size of nickels, I started looking for the plague of locusts. Hubby was sure a tornado was on the way.

Oh, Sling, think The Hat and I will be there in time?

Well, it certainly does make for a change of pace, Grish.

KA, right? We have a neighbor who is from LA and she was getting out of her car when the hail started. "What is this?" she asked The Spouse.

"Hail," he said.

"Hail? What the..."

"At least it's not burning," he said.
