Way Too Early on a Saturday Morning
There's a lot on my mind this morning. It's probably why I got up right at 6; I wasn't really sleeping anyway. I'd just had a dream, something about the cast of "Bye Bye Birdie" leaving town and me standing there crying and crying and crying. (Unfortunately, I came in during the middle of the movie dream so have no idea why I was so heartbroken). Even though I didn't get near enough sleep last night I got up and the coffee will be ready in a moment. Then I'll take some time to think through the day and all the things on my mind before rousing The Child and getting on with it.
So here are my random thoughts.
a)I'm a bad mother. The Child hasn't really be practising at home for this tourney and I haven't really tried to make her, even though the coach encourages such behavior. So last night, on our way out to pick up The Spouse, I had her give me a little taste of her pieces. She was really good. Really good. And that surprised me. Which is why I'm a bad mother. Shouldn't I have expected that she'd be brilliant?
2)"Healthy snacks", in my view, are things like apples and peanuts. The Child thinks more in terms of fruit gushers. I hate the person who invented those things and I hate even more the person who turned my child on to them. The good news is, I never buy them so it's not like it will be an issue when we're loading her backpack this morning. Just thought I'd mention that.
3)Important things happened on "BSG" last night...important backstory, filling in the blanks sorts of things. Things which revealed the true nature of other things. Which made me happy because it means my dream of Lee & Starbuck need not be over.
4) We missed a call from jp last night. (insert boo-boo face here). We have things to discuss, he and I, but we do it via email because the stupid time difference means he's seen important things to talk about before I've had a chance to experience them. (I'm talking about tv, of course. Our connection is strong but it's not like we're psychic or something). Anyway, I picked up the message at about 12:20 my time, which means that his dulcet tones were practically the last thing I heard before going off to dreamland.
See, nothing really to report there, just doing a brain dump so there's room for the caffeine.

You're not a bad mother until Dr. Phil says you are in front of a national audience. So relax.
Oh. Thanks LA. I missed that memo.
what's a fruit gusher? sounds nasty.
Fruit gushers are bad, but not as bad as missing a call from JP...
You are not a bad mother. And fruit gushers and disgusting.
I don't know what a fruit gusher is either. lol
As far as the phone thing goes I miss calls all the time, I try to forward everything to my cell phone now-a-days but I forget a lot...
Hope you all have a good day!
Those of you unfamiliar with fruit gushers are fortunate, as the comments from those who do know them will attest.
Grish, I suppose forwarding the phone isn't a bad idea but since we were at the theatah the phone was turned off so we'd have missed it anyway. Alas.
Yeah, that time zone thing is rough. I called you at midnight, after watching BSG, afraid you would already be in bed but turns out you weren't even home yet from the theat-ah.
It was poor timing on my part, but then you can't really blame me because you had the brain.
We've gotta get that rota worked out.
Well "I suppose" cell phones in the thea-tah are a little taboo. Hmm, Text messaging! There we go :)
Answer: "Grish Unplugged".
Question: What are things you are never likely to see?
Bah! No respect...:P
Fruit gushers are so gross. And I agree with LA. Dr. Phil has to weigh in first.
