Gossip Magazines
They all look alike to me so I don't know which one it is that is musing on its cover about the likelihood that Prince William is going to propose to his long-time girlfriend, Kate someone or other. But musing they are.
I love me a royal wedding. I got up in the dark of a morning to watch Charles & Diana's. My best friend had slept over and a bunch of other girls came over and we ate scones & crumpets and drank tea. I think we wore hats with our jammies. It was awesome. I watched Fergie & Andrew's, too. I might be bad luck for the royal family, come to think of it.
There are all sorts of reasons, especially as a Yank, to be dismissive of the royal family. But, maybe because my maternal grandfather had been born in Canada and always loved the Queen, I have a pretty strong strain of Anglophilia, which is never more apparent than when a royal is hooking up or having a baby.
Plus, Prince William is just lovely. The Neighbor's cousin's daughter went to St. Andrews with Wills. She once spilled beer on him at a pub and he was charming about it. She said that his pictures don't do him justice. The brain swells trying to comprehend that. And of course when his mum died the first thing I thought and the first thing that made me cry was for Wills and Harry. I hope he does get married and is happy. He'll need something to do between now and 60 years from now when he finally gets to be king.
My Anglophilia also manifests itself in a particular fondness for British musicians. Especially this guy:

How on Earth are you able to link to your videos dammit!? Isn't Blogger fussing with you? Well of coarse not. Hmft!
I know! It's like her blog looks all normal and everything, and ours looks like --, well... hooha.
(Forgot to mention that I love Elvis Costello.)
And I love the buttery goodness that his his wifeys voice. I could be A LOT gay for that voice.
I'm sorry you kids are having booger blogger trouble. But it leaves more videos for me, bwahahaha.
The whole Diane Krall/Elvis Costello thing is just genius to me. And I thought it was cool when he worked with Burt Bacharach.
Charlie, I've heard that about them, the whole not singing worth a fried Twinkie thing. Sad.
You know what Costello song I want to hear?
Veronica.
I think I will go listen to that.
That's a good one, Iwanski. I'm partial to "Alison". But that's the wrong decade.
Isn't it just loverly? I'll bet those having problems with their blogger are converts (traitors?)...them that has switched over to the evil Blogger Beta.... You and I, Lorraine, are unaffected holdouts. Serves them right. Bwahahahahaha
Viva le resistence!
