Hey There, Handsome
Back in the 80s, it really helped if you were pretty. Especially if you were a boy. This is one of the things I appreciate about the era. Now, you might say that being attractive is always a bonus in the music business and you'd be right but there just seems to be a disproportionate number of pretty boys in 80s music. Not that I'm complaining. Plus, I am a sucker for a guy in a suit.

Musicians in the 80s probably were prettier, but don't you think that our actors are better looking in the 21st century? Or is it just because I picked up my copy of People's "Sexiest Man Alive" issue today?
I suspect it's to do with the magazine, although, I do think that for sheer objective beauty we probably have more today. Really, after Cary Grant and Gene Kelly I'm kinda at a loss. I suppose Clark Gable wasn't too shabby. But most of the long-ago actors had what you'd call "character" but not so much the prettiness.
Please leave the magazine on my front porch when you're done with it. I need to do some research.
Character went along way back in the day...
People in general were more attractive when I was drunk, which would include the entire '80's.
Some of the music still looks good though, despite the lack of tiara.
Shameless plug: Check out my all '80's radio show Sat 3-5 pm EST @ www.wrir.org
Too true, Grish. Prettiness isn't everything. Look at Brad Pitt.
And that was incredibly shameless, Alan. You're going to steal my audience. Shame on you! (Let's see, 3pm eastern makes it, what, 11am my time, right?)
