Sunday Afternoon Tunes

Sometimes I find songs that are amazing to me, even if they weren't recorded in the 80s. And it's at times like that when I'm really glad I have another blog. Aren't the harmonies on this just about the most gorgeous thing EVER?

On a road trip today, I put in Patty Griffin, "Flying Trapeze". Emmylou sings back up vocals. CD is 'Children Running Through" Good stuff.

Someday you'll understand.

Loves me some Dolly. I hear the harmonies, but hers is the only voice I can clearly distinguish -- did the producers bump her up a little? This is great ...

... ALMOST as good as Emmylou singing with Alison Krauss and Gillian Welch on the O Brother, Where Art Thou soundtrack.

(ducking, but steadfast in my belief)

Who doesn't love the "O Brother" soundtrack? Point 'em out and I'll pelt them with pots of Dapper Dan pomade.
