Fashion
Woody Allen's Acadamy Award winning "Annie Hall" was released in 1977. I was a junior in college. It is not putting too fine a point on it to say that this movie had a profound impact on me. Not the least, in my wardrobe. The late 70s, just before the advent of the punk movement, was a rather grim time for women's fashion. One word: culottes.
Lord knows, I didn't have a ton of fashion sense back in those days nor the courage to really wear what I wanted to wear because everyone pretty much wore the same thing. And then came "Annie Hall". I loved everything Diane Keaton wore in that movie. I started hitting the vintage shops, looking for shirts and vests. A boyfriend taught me how to tie a tie. And I was, without question, the only girl on campus doing the "menswear" thing. (Which, btw, turns out Ralph Lauren was behind the "Annie Hall" look; perhaps I had more fashion sense than I gave myself credit for).
Anyhoo, that last video got me thinking of how good a woman can look in a nice suit. Pearls are nice, too. Here's another woman who looks good in a suit.

Good choice. Quintessential 80's. Nice intro. Didn't see it coming.
AH! GODDESS!
I remember seeing this video but the only image that really stuck in my head over the eyars was at the first of it wtih the globe. I love the song..
I know this wasn't the point of the post, but Annie Hall is the greatest movie in the history of cinema.
I have watched it at least 25 times, and I will watch it 25 more times if the creek don't rise.
Oh, geez, Iwanski. I've seen it at least 50 times and I'm so not kidding. It is still my favorite movie EVAH.
We both have the same favorite movie. We should be sorority sisters.
Delta Delta Delta, can I help ya, help ya, help ya?
