First of All
Thanks very much to all of you for your loving support, comisseration and prayers yesterday. It's nice not to suffer alone. And get this, y'all have some powerful supporting/good wishing/prayer powers because I woke up this morning (ba dadada da - The Spouse always does that...interupts with a little blues riff) and my back feels 100% better. I wrote a little blues song to show my appreciation:
A Little Blues Song
I woke up this morning
(ba dadada da)
and I was feelin' no pain
(ba dadada da)
I woke up this morning and my back was not in flame
so I, I can't sing the blues.
I didn't say it was a good little blues song.
The neighbors on the other side of The Neighbor invited us to join them (and her) for dinner last night, which was superfantastic because by the time I had retrieved The Child from her service project thingy that she does until 5 on Wednesdays, I was not a happy person and did not want to cook dinner, even if it was going to be fish in parchment, which is a) a one dish dinner and 2) just about the easiest thing you can make this side of microwave mac & cheese, but still. I would have kissed D's feet except for the whole not being able to move without searing pain thing.
And so, we had a very civilized evening, starting with martinis which are oh, so civilized, followed by delicious Moroccan chicken and an orange-almond cake and talk of civilized things. It was very, very pleasant and I didn't have to do dishes.
Anyway, thanks again for all the love and kindness yesterday and we now return you to our regularly scheduled, complaint-free, programming.

way glad you're feeling better... and woo hoo re: pleasant civilized martinis...
I need their martini recipe since it was so theraputic. Sounds like good theraputic stuff.
Glad to hear your feeling better...
Theraputic, theraputic, theraputic thought I'd get it out of my system...carry on..
glad you better!!!
Woo hoo, indeed.
Bombay Sapphire, Grish. That's the secret.
It was the heating pad and chocolate what done it, CM.
Glad you're doing better, and sorry I didn't get to add my condolences to yesterday's post. I know back pain. I have endured it since I was in high school. I empathized. I was just so busy... that is my mantra "I am so busy. I am so busy."
I am SURE it was the chocolate way more than the heating pad. Chocolate cures all.
Hey, any blues song is a decent blues song if you've got a good riff going from the stand-up bass (or a spouse who can reasonably approximate for same).
Glad to know you're feelin' no pain, baby.
Gina, and virtual chocolate is particularly yummy.
I'll tell you one thing, R7, The Spouse does blow a mean blues harp. It helps.
